How does climate change specifically affect Hamburg-North, and what can the district do about it? To better understand this, the Hamburg-North district office has set up a DIPAS participation process. Citizens were able to submit their observations on heat spots, heavy rainfall or climate adaptation measures that have already been implemented directly online on the district map.

The information collected is incorporated into the impact and focus analysis for the district's climate adaptation concept and helps to develop targeted and locally effective measures. The aim is to make the district and its residents more resilient to the consequences of climate change.

The process in Hamburg-North shows how digital participation with DIPAS can also be used for complex issues such as climate adaptation in order to gather local expertise from the public.
